For people seeking affordable housing, affordable renovations and access to community resources, Harmony Square, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit that provides assistance that empowers families on their journey from transition to stability while helping to ease the burden of government.
Leslie Carroll has experience working as a Construction Office Manager and Certified Government Contractor procuring federal, state and local government construction contracts for residential, commercial, and private sectors in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. Leslie took charge of special projects to implement the company's OSHA standardized safety and /drug-Free Workplace policies mandated by the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation. Leslie also has management experience within social services environments working with women and children, unemployed individuals providing employment and training resources, food pantry, scholarships for job training gained working for one of the largest charitable service providers for social services in the US; empowering individuals to effect positive change in their life.
Harmony Square Inc. of Cleveland is an organization that provides transitional housing and permanent housing to women, families in transition, seniors, disabled who are the most economically and occupationally disadvantaged towards permanent housing also connecting to community resources and life skill training for those who can benefit from extra services. Harmony Square offers assistance to people as they move from dependent, into independent, self-sufficient lifestyles. Harmony Square Inc. will accept Section 8 subsidized housings long-term transitional housing.
Our housing activity will primarily be to acquire and rehabilitate homes and multi-unit residences to be rented, leased or in some instances sold to low-income, very low-income and transitional people. For the purpose of this primary activity Harmony Square will use the following eligibility criteria: 80% of the area median income for low income; and 50% of area median income for very low income. Affordable renovation services offered to low-income homeowners. In addition, we recognize that in order to be successful in this endeavor that supportive social services, as described, must be an integral part of our housing activities.
Perspective residents may come to Harmony Square with a myrid of personal and social problems for which they may need advice and counseling. For those who require counseling for substance abuse, marital, legal, or other family problems will be referred to local community and social service organizations. Where appropriate, residents / tenants who require ongoing assistance with alcohol or drug-related problems will be referred to appropriate outside agencies for counseling. The continuance of counseling will help those residents / tenants to set and achieve reasonable goals for future success and develop their potential as working men and women caring for their families by remaining in those programs.
